Socially Sustainable Design

25 May, 2010 - 00:17

Ramia Mazé's recent lecture to faculty, students and alumni at the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology can now be viewed online!

Launching the project Designing Social Innovation, the lecture provides a background on the Interactive Institute, her previous research and emerging research issues in sustainable design. During the next 3 years, she will develop the project as an international network around design engagement in environmental issues,
such as energy and resource consumption, and through concepts of 'social
sustainability' relevant to design for social situations and cultural
practices over time. Funded by the Swedish
Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (Vinnova), Ramia Mazé has a research fellowship at the IIT Institute of Design, where she will be based part-time to develop the project.
