DESIGN+CARE seminar at Konstfack

1 March, 2011 - 17:27

Ramia Mazé organized the annual seminar for the Industrial Design department at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design. The topic was DESIGN+CARE  – critical issues and future opportunities for design and design research in the area of healthcare. From clinical practice to healthy lifestyles and community wellness, design products, services, and interactions, we explored the topic through lectures, discussions and activities. The morning program was open to the public, with presentations from Lena Wettergren (Karolinska Institutet), Nick Marsh (Sidekick Studios, UK), Anna Thies (Stockholm University), Oscar Frykholm (KTH), and Rahul Sen (Ergonomidesign). The afternoon program took place as hands-on concept development workshops with the bachelors and masters level industrial design students.

Documentation (photos, videos and notes) is now online! Note: We regret that the visual quality of the videos is unfortunately not optimal, due to an unexpected technical fault with the equipment.  The DESIGN+CARE Seminar is part of a collaboration between Konstfack and Kunskapslotsen, a project within the European Regional Development Fund that aims to increase collaboration and knowledge transfer between universities/collages and small to medium-sized companies in Stockholm. Seminar organizers: Ramia Mazé with Jennie Johansson, Andreij Nylander, and Tove Thambert; Graphic design: Rohan Jaguste; Web: Erik Westerdahl. Ramia Mazé is a Guest Lecturer at Konstfack and Senior Researcher at the Interactive Institute. Jennie, Andreij, Tove, Rohan and Erik are current students or recent graduates from the Industrial Design department at Konstfack.
