The Spirit of High Voltage

Spirit of High Voltage is a collaboration between the Interactive Institute - Art Productions and Nils Edvardsson. The project aims to increase the understanding for energy matters and electricity by documenting and enhancing the sounds that electricity makes. Electricity stops being invisible and silent.

Nils Edvardsson has for a long time been fascinated by high voltage and the Swedish power grid. He has previously explored the area around the nuclear power plant in Barsebäck and the Swedish power grid in Årjäng in the north of Sweden. This summer he has been working with Interactive Institute - Art Productions and the sound engineer Fredrik Norrgren to listen to heart of the Scandinavian power industry in Porjus and Harsprånget. The outcome is presented in a sound installation at the Interactive Institute where we can hear large parts of the energy that supports Sweden.
