Close (not yet)
A piece by Johan Thurfjell produced by Art Productions
Some things you mustn't come too close, or they will be lost. Like the horizon, the starry sky or the dream. If you try to remember your dreams in the morning you need to maintain the state just between dreaming and waking or what you dreamt during the night will disappear before your eyes. Something like when you look at the night sky and you need to look a little to the side of a dim star to see it.
Close (not yet) describes a dream that has been written down just at the moment of waking up. The small text shines, bright and clear, framed like a painting on the wall. If you approach it to read the tiny print it dissolves before your eyes. You have to maintain a certain distance for it, and the dream it describes, to exist.
Close (not yet) was originally produced as part of the Man Machine project. A second was produced by Art Productions.
