Borås Textile Museum Vernissage 10th November 2002, Borås, Sweden PLAY, together with the Textile School in Borås, presented a number of experiments with textiles that reflect and absorb sounds. The work is part the ePeople project (funded by VINNOVA) as well as project courses run by the Textile School in their masters program. The second Jamboree of the Disappearing Computing Initiative was co-located with the Ubicomp conference. The Smart-Its project, in which PLAY is one of the participating research groups, presented a number of demos and scenarios at the event. Special Issue on Ubiquitous Games in Personal and Ubiquitous Computing Peter Ljungstrand and Staffan Björk are guest editors together with Jussi Holopainen (Nokia Research Center, Tampere, Finland) and Regan Mandryk (Edge Lab, Simon Fraser University, Canada) for a special issue on the merger of ubiquitous computing and games. The issue will focus on both social and technological of aspects and will be published in the fall of 2002. An open call for papers has been announced for the issue with a deadline on the 28th of February 2002.
