Carin Torstensson

Studio Director

 

Carin Torstensson has been working at Interactive Institute since 2005 and was appointed as director of the department in Eskilstuna 2006. The research group Carin is directing focus on multi disciplinary research where the researchers combine design, technology and energy. 

She is also a project manager for several research projects. The first projects at Interactive Institute focused on research within the area of persuasive technology and through computer and cell phone games the research group examined how teenagers could be motivated to save energy. Now she is leading projects within the area of smart grid and demand response. In these projects the research focus is how design can motivate people to be active consumers on the energy market. She is also often invited as speaker.  

Carin has earlier worked seven years in the games publisher industry as project manager and license manager. She started at the Bonnier owned Bonnier Multimedia AB. Then she went to Levande Böcker which became Pan Vision. Before that she has also worked as a project manager at Logica (former WM-data) and as a construction engineer at Strängbetong.

Carin Torstensson, born 1969, has a Bachelor of Science from Karlstad University, 1992, and she has also studied at Mälardalen’s University, Faculty of Information Design, to become a technical writer, 1994.
