New Artist in Residence in telepathy project
The artist Ulrika Sparre is a new Artist in Residence at Art & Technology at the Interactive Institute from May 21.
– I want to create a tool for measuring telepathy.
Ulrika Sparre will work with telepathy and different kinds of brain sensors.
Her work takes off from some experiments made at the Institution of Psychology made at the Stockholm University and will work with questions on appearance, the human psyche, and what is known and what
is unknown.
– There is no tool for measuring telepathy today, says Ulrika Sparre, who herself is convinced that telepathy exists.
According to her, there is no evidence that telepathy really exists:
– Telepathy is accidental and etheric. I ask myself if there is a collective consciousness or if we just affect each other? I think it is culturally conditioned. All tests that are made are scientific and want to create an empiric truth. But telapathy should be measurable in other ways.
What do you expect to gain from your residency?
– I want to create a test station or maybe a game for measuring telepathy.
Ulrika Sparre is Artist in Residence at Art & Technology during the period May 21–November 21 2007.
