The Department of Cultural Technology and Communication is placed in the area between the Social and Technological Sciences. It attempts to include in its subjects every kind of new data in the field of techno-sciences influencing the transformation mechanisms in the domains of Culture and Communication.
The foundation of the the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication responds to the growing demand for cultural employment aiming at the instruction and preparation of specialists in Cultural Technologies – Cultural Informatics – Multimedia / Hypermedia – Digital Audiovisual Arts. The Department of Cultural Technology and Communication promotes the synthesis (combination) of Cultural Studies with the technologies of design, production, promotion and administration of cultural products and services.
The scientific fields and research activities are directly combined with new work environments and the job market in general, in the following sectors:

- Virtual Reality Technologies – Multimedia
- Digital Art Forms (Photography, Cinema, Video, Animation, Comics)
