Berkeley's Center for New Media brings together humanists, technologists, social scientists, artists, and designers who engage in critical study of the potentials and pitfalls of New Media, informed by a broad multidisciplinary knowledge base and a deep historical and theoretical perspective. The Center currently includes nearly 90 affiliated faculty from over 30 departments, including American Studies, Anthropology, Architecture, Art History, Art Practice, Berkeley Art Museum, Classics, Comparative Literature, Economics, Education, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, English, Film Studies, History, Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, Journalism, Law, the Library, Linguistics, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Music, the Pacific Film Archive, Philosophy, Political Science, Public Health, Rhetoric, Information Management Science, Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies, and Women's Studies.
