The AWARE Lifestyle Collection

The AWARE Lifestyle Collection is a collection of thoughtfully designed energy aware products that fit into people’s everyday life, their personal needs and their different lifestyles.

Below we present the designs that are included in the AWARE Lifestyle Collection. We will continously update this site with new designs resulting from our project.

THE AWARE Chandelier

AWARE Chandelier

The AWARE Chandelier puts focus on the aesthetics and use of low energy light bulbs. It combines the design and status of a classic cut-glass chandelier with modern materials and energy efficient low energy light bulbs. Through the AWARE Chandelier we place the low energy lamp, an energy-saving product that are often considered as something ugly and boring, in a new context and present it as something beatiful.

The AWARE Laundry Lamp

The AWARE Laundry Lamp

The AWARE Laundry Lamp is both a lamp and a washstand. In traditional light bulbs, 95% of the energy is transferred into heat, and only 5% into light. The AWARE Laundry Light gives you the possibility to create your own lamp design and at the same time save energy through hang-drying your clothes!

The AWARE Energy Clock

The AWARE Energy Clock can display the total energy consumption for a household or for single appliances. It visually and pedagogically compares the consumption with previous days, hours or minutes. The AWARE Energy Clock is wirelessly connected to an energy meter and can be integrated into mobile  objects, and thus serve as an ambient display.

The AWARE Puzzle Switch

The AWARE Puzzle Switch

The AWARE Puzzle Switch is an on/off button designed in order to encourage people to switch of their light, by playing with people’s built-in desire for order.

It also gives much more feedback of its current state than a traditional switch.

AWARE Puzzle Switch OFF

AWARE Puzzle Switch is off.

AWARE Puzzle Switch ON

AWARE Puzzle Switch is on.

We are currently
working on:

Finalizing our prototypes Share AWARE Light and AWARE Handle, as well as writing papers and documenting our work.
